Roles Under GDPR

Responsibilities for personal data are split as follows:

◆The merchant (Shopify store owner) is the data controller — they own and are responsible for their customers' personal data.

◆Frommwah is the data processor — we process customer data only on the merchant's instruction, solely to deliver reveal messages.

◆Merchants are responsible for ensuring their customers have consented to receive reveal communications, and for maintaining their own customer-facing privacy policy.

What Data We Collect About Merchants

When a merchant installs Frommwah we collect:

◆Shopify shop domain

◆Shop name and contact email (provided by Shopify at install)

◆Branded box assets uploaded by the merchant (logo, brand colours)

◆App usage data (sends used, plan status)

We do NOT collect or store payment card details. All billing is handled entirely by Shopify Billing.

Customer Data We Process On The Merchant's Behalf

When a merchant's customer places an order, Frommwah receives and processes:

◆Customer name

◆Customer email address

◆Customer WhatsApp number (if provided by merchant)

◆Order details (order ID, product, fulfilment status)

This data is used solely to send the branded reveal experience to the customer. We do not sell, share, or use this data for any other purpose.

Who We Share Data With

To deliver the reveal experience we use the following sub-processors:

◆Supabase — secure cloud database and storage (EU/US).

◆Resend — email delivery service.

◆Merchant's WhatsApp Business API provider — WhatsApp message delivery via the merchant's own account; Frommwah does not send WhatsApp messages directly.

We do not sell data to third parties.

How Long We Keep Data

Retention periods by data type:

◆Merchant account data: retained for the duration of the subscription and deleted within 90 days of cancellation upon request.

◆Customer order data: retained for 90 days after the reveal is delivered, then permanently deleted.

◆Branded box assets: retained until the merchant deletes them or cancels their subscription.

Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised Frommwah systems only.

Security Incident Response

If we become aware of a security incident or data breach affecting personal data we process, we will:

◆Contain and assess the incident as soon as it is discovered

◆Notify affected merchants by email within 72 hours of confirming a breach affecting their data

◆Provide details of what data was affected and the steps being taken to resolve it

◆Notify the relevant supervisory authority where required by law

Your Rights Under GDPR

Merchants and their customers have the right to:

◆Access the personal data we hold

◆Request correction of inaccurate data

◆Request deletion of their data

◆Object to processing

◆Data portability

Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of all data associated with your shop, contact with your shop domain. We will permanently delete all merchant and associated customer data within 30 days.

Cookies

The Frommwah app does not use tracking cookies. Shopify may set cookies as part of their standard embedded app framework — see Shopify's privacy policy for details.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify merchants of material changes via email and in-app notification with 14 days notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
